Jamie is kind, patient coach that teaches kids to believe in themselves while cheering them and their successes on by the sidelines. She is a great motivation for both my boys who are truly disappointed if we can't make a class. We are so blessed to have found One Skate Ahead!
My daughter just had her first session and she is just in love with roller skating. I'm so excited that they offer this sport for children of all ages!
My daughter's took lessons from "Ms. Jamie" from age 5 to 15 and 18 months to age 11. They learned so much more than skating skills from her and her family. My girls competed and participated in Regionals and Nationals with Jamie and she has been persistent, encouraging, passionate, and supportive of them in skating and everything else. Even though my girls are now 19 and 15 and no longer take lessons or compete in skating, the skills they learned with Jamie helped them take on many other activities with confidence and discipline. Jamie and her family are now lifelong friends whom we have been blessed to have met. I cannot say enough about her sincerity in teaching children and her passion for them to learn, strive, and grow from their experience with skating that will carry over into so many more things in life. I was really impressed with how much my daughter learned in her first free lesson. In one hour with Coach Jamie she actually began skating more than falling and was truly enjoying it, rather than struggling! Skating with One Skate Ahead these past few months, I've seen my daughters blossom so much. Physically they have both improved their sense of rythym, balance, and grace. But I'm also seeing their self confidence grow they're learning to overcome their fears. They're learning about teamwork and taking responsibility. Honoring commitments. Working hard. Not giving up. How to pick themselves back up when they fall, metaphorically, without mom and dad being there to encourage them. And best of all, they're learning to have passion for something, skating. They love it because under Coach Jamie's guidance they know they can do it, no matter how hard it seams. And they have pride in themselves. We have had amazing experiences with Coach Jamie's team, and look forward to all the wonderful talents and abilities she can foster in our daughters!
